May 17 - 23 Meal Plan
As I was cooking heating a Kirkland Signature cheese pizza for my children's dinner last night, I decided to start referring to Friday evening as What The Food Ever (WTFE) Fridays. WTFE probably applies to other nights sometimes, but here that is usually a Friday. Here's to another week of cooking when you can.

Our pool is finally the correct combination of clear and blue-ish, so it's time for me to reclaim the grill from the grossness of winter + The Pollening. And that means it's time for some outside cooking.
This is my favorite food nerd article on burgers, from the incomparable Meathead Goldwyn (AmazingRibs.com). I don't grind my own, and with Buster's Butcher in town now I'm not sure why I would. I'll be doing some smash burgers this week for sure.
Everybody loves a solid loaded baked potato, but I'll be trying some smashed potatoes this week (Serious Eats). I'll be subbing out that tonnato sauce for something my family will actually eat, though.
It's asparagus szn, so I'll try out this pad thai recipe from Saveur and add chicken so that Amanda won't complain about being hungry by bedtime.
Last week's Dutch oven shredded chicken was great, so I'll use the same technique with more Italian-ish ingredients to make more as a pasta topping (Rao's marinara will be involved).

Well I am pleased to report that season 2 of Andor was fantastic. Now it's time to rewatch Rogue One.
I've been real sleepy at night lately so bedtime reading hasn't happened for a few weeks. But I did just get a recommendation from someone who reads many much books each month than I probably do in a year. The book is Unreasonable Hospitality by Will Guidara, who helped make Eleven Madison Park destination dining. He's also in The Big Brunch, a delightful cooking competition show that Amanda and I really really loved.
